Stiglitz arrives Yangon to attend development forum

Joseph Stigilitz gave speech at the second development partnership roundtable and development forum jointly sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific Region and the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development on December 15th.
Mr. Joseph E. Stiglitz, a US economist and former vice governor of World Bank arrived Yangon on December 15 to attend a development forum.
The Nobel Award Winner led a delegation to attend the second development partnership roundtable and development forum jointly sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific Region and the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development.
Joseph Stiglitz has served with Cambridge University, Yale University, Stamford University, Duke University, Oxford University, Princeton University and Columbia University in his capacity as economic professor, and become the economic adviser to former president of US Bill Clinton from 1995 to 1997. He has also served with World Bank as vice governor from 1997 to 2000. He won the economic Nobel Award in 2001.
His book tilled, ‘Making Globalization Work’ was translated into Myanmar by Kyaw Win.
