2009 lags behind. Nowadays, thanking and writing have become dynamic. Style of writing is simple, easy to understand, free from ambiguities and equivocalities. However, literature does not flourish. I mean literature is on the decline. It is incumbent upon the doyens of literature field to encourage the younger generations to be more productive in literature writing. But the good thing is mushrooming of journals. This is in fact an era of media boom. Anyway, I hope the journalists to join hands with novelists and literature writers in effectuation of national development.

I am optimistic that 2010 will witness publication of more translated texts. This year can also witness a multitude of changes. I think the translated literature does not flourish, and there are not so many people who do translation. And the translated texts find it difficult to have a place in the market. Their market share is very low.

Every effect has its causes naturally. This is in fact a causal relationship as expounded by Buddha. If there take place charges, there are causes that make them happen.

I wish Myanmar people a happy new year which is full of auspicious occasions. It is known to all that 2010 will behold political events which are concerned with the entire union. Beginning 1962, our country had to love under military regimes and single-party dictators alternately. This way of living will be 48 years old in 2010.
The goal of Myanmar is to establish a democratic federal nation with the military participating in the affairs of the state.
I wish Myanmar people a peaceful transition to a democratic state.
